This is the last week before spring break for my school, and man are we ever in need of a vacation. As I related on Sunday, my class’s behavior has gotten worse this month, but thankfully it has toned down this week and we’ve been able to get some productive work done. Outside of school, here is what I’ve been loving recently.

No. 1: Moon Valley Organics Moon Melt Lotion Bar

My husband gave me a Moon Valley Organics Moon Melt Lotion Bar in lemon vanilla as a little gift, and let me tell you, it is divine. The bar smells delicious and is super moisturizing. They are made locally in Deming, WA, which, if you’re familiar with Washington, is northeast of Bellingham. It comes in a beautiful white tin, which would pretty up any bathroom counter. You can learn more about Moon Valley Organics at their website here.

No. 2: My Daughter's Discovery of the Doggy Door

On Sunday, my daughter discovered how to use the doggy door and immediately began climbing in and out of our back door. It was so adorable, and it occupied her attention for a nice stretch of time. I know it’s going to cause problems in the future, as she’s too young to play in the backyard by herself, but it was too cute to stop. (Just look at the last picture below for proof of her cuteness.) I’ll deal with the consequences later.

No. 3: Solo Shopping Trip and Drive Through Skagit Valley Farmlands

On Sunday, I got to go shopping at Target all by myself. I didn’t have a toddler grabbing everything and crying when I hand whatever item she’s gripping over to the cashier. I didn’t have to rush due to time constraints. I got to wander through one aisle after the other and it was glorious. Target definitely benefited from my leisurely trip, as you can see below.

Afterwards, I drove through the Skagit Valley farmlands scoping out the scene for my upcoming guide on the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. I captured some beautiful daffodil fields in Mt. Vernon and a field of snow geese in La Conner. What a great afternoon recharging my batteries.

  • Oh man, between those cute buns going through the doggy door , the daffodils and the snow geese I am sitting here smiling. Thanks for sharing the joy on this grey Maundy Thursday.
